How does Naked Jain choose a band to sign?
Keep in mind that signing a band to a recording contract is a huge commitment in both money and time for both parties involved.
Here are a few questions that we ask ourselves about each new band when considering to sign them:
-How good is their music? Do we love it?
-How active are they? Do they play shows regularly?
-How stable are they as a band? Have they kept a consistant lineup or will they break-up on their first tour?
-Are they willing to quit day-jobs and tour?
-Have they had good business relationships in the past with booking agents and managers?
-Do they do too many drugs?
-Have they been recommended to us by one of our bands after playing shows together?
-Are they historically important?
-Are they marketable?
-Do they have a steadfast following?
-Do they have good plans and ideas for their future?
